The weather in Barbados is split into two distinct seasons. The wet season lasts from June to November, with rainfall of between 40 and 90 inches during that period. However, the name is something of a misnomer - temperatures remain warm and the rain during this period usually arrives in short, sharp bursts meaning that there is still plenty of beautiful sunshine about. The dry season lasts from December to May and year-round temperatures hover between 21 degrees C and 31 degrees C. Unlike other Caribbean islands, the easterly location of Barbados means it is usually unaffected by the North Atlantic hurricane season.
